Puzzles and Seesaw!

Hello Families!

Today we took a little time out of our day to play some literacy games. We played Boggle Jr., Space Station Sight Words, did a puzzle of the United States and completed a few word puzzles. I snapped some photos of groups working together. It is so great to see the kids really coming together to achieve a common goal. Many of the groups decided to post their success on Seesaw. Please make sure to check your child's Seesaw account for updates on what they are working on in the classroom!

Pick-A-Better Snack!

I have also included some photos of Pick-a-Better Snack. We are so excited to have Ms. Sara Huston in our classroom. She comes in every Tuesday during snack time to introduce new snacks and teach us how to choose healthy options. We also really enjoy eating these yummy snacks, too! Here are some photos of our class enjoying two different types of apples. Thank you, Ms. Huston!

Holiday Break

Hello First Grade Families!

I hope everyone is getting back into the swing of the school schedule. The kids and I had a great short week back last week. I wanted to share some pictures from before break of some very special visitors in our classroom.

First, the Fifth Grades from the Middle School came to perform 'Twas The Night Before Christmas. It was so fun to listen to them read this classic tale! Thank you Fifth Graders for being great reading role models of our First Grade class!

Santa and his helpers also stopped into our room to chat and give us a sweet treat to enjoy. The kids were SO excited to see Santa and loved the treat his elves gave them. Thank you very much to the Kid Committee and the Board Members for putting this fun surprise together for our students. They loved it!!

I have also included a photo of the staff ugly sweater contest. We had fun dressing up!

Race to 100 Cans of Food
MP-East is excited to celebrate 100 days of learning by giving back to the community! Each class is challenged to collect 100 cans of food. See the flyer below for more information.
Thank you for your support!

I promise to get back into the swing of updating the blog. Have a happy week!!
